Colorectal surgeons from Sechenov University visit a high-tech medical manufacturing site in China

Colorectal surgeons from Sechenov University visit a high-tech medical manufacturing site in China A team from Sechenov University’s Clinic of Coloproctology and Minimally Invasive Surgery visited China to gain first-hand insight into the development and production of high-technology medical devices intended for clinical use. The delegation was received at the Cancer Hospital of Jiangsu Province and welcomed by the Second-level Inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, Shu Yiping.
During the visit, the specialists explored the manufacturing process, discussed technical solutions with the engineering team, and shared feedback based on routine surgical practice. The discussions focused on how device design translates into real operating-room conditions and how clinical experience can be incorporated at early stages of development.
The visit helped align clinical needs with engineering solutions: the team discussed which device functions are critical in colorectal practice, what should be improved to enhance safety and usability, and what types of clinical outcomes and real-world data will be required to support broader implementation. It also laid the groundwork for further expert exchange through joint evaluation of prototypes, training approaches, and follow-up discussions focused on real clinical workflow.
