Sechenov University launches its Programme 2030 website

Today, on 1 December, we have launched a special website, 2030.sechenov.ru/eng, where Sechenov University presents its Programme 2030. It is aligned with Russia’s new academic leadership initiative, Priority 2030.

The aim of Sechenov University’s programme is to create world-beating models for a medical research university — unique for Russia. The goal is to bring the Russian academia — from education, fundamental and applied research to biomedical industry — to a globally competitive level.

‘In the transformation from a specialised institute into a multidisciplinary university, we will bridge the gap between medical education, research, and clinical practice. And even more, we will train researchers in life sciences — mathematicians, chemists, biologists, physicists, and IT specialists. We will create a research centre of non-medical sciences’, said Petr Glybochko, Rector of Sechenov University.

The new system of university development will be scaled up throughout the country. For this, Sechenov University is creating strategic partnerships with scientific, medical, and educational organisations in three Federal Districts of the Russian Federation. This approach will facilitate the training at a completely new level, since the graduates will have a research outlook and will be able to solve complex tasks. For the regions of Russia, the partnerships will bring the new model of medical education, but not only this: they will receive medical research clinics as a new way of providing medical care.

The Programme 2030 website contains information about Sechenov University’s Strategic Projects:

·         Biodesign;

·         Translational Research in Medicine and Pharmaceutics;

·         Network for the Promotion of Best Practices in Medicine, Research, and Education.

On the website, you can submit your ideas by filling out a special form.

We welcome your proposals and will carefully consider them.
