You can extend the period of your lawful stay in Russia for up to 6 months- 1 year by extending your Russian visa.

You can extend a single-entry visa and a multiple-entry visa.

To extend your visa, please prepare all relevant documents and submit them in person to the MSMU migration department not earlier than 90 calendar days and no later than 45 calendar days prior to the expiry date of your visa.

Please prepare the following documents:

·         a copy of your passport (all pages with stamps, marks and visas);

·         a copy of your visa;

·         an application form  ( form attached below);

·         a copy of your registration (both sides);

·         a copy of your migration card;

·         a colour photograph (3.5 х 4.5 cm);

·         a confirmation of the state duty payment (1600 roubles; you can get a pay slip from our office in Room 125, Trubetskaya street, 8/2 );

N.B.!

·        For a Student visa your passport should be valid for at least 6 Months from the starting date of the visa you intend to obtain.        

·        International students from visa countries can be enrolled to MSMU only under a student visa issued by MSMU invitation! Should you have a valid tourist, private, business visa, you will have to cancel it and apply for a new student visa with an MSMU invitation. In some cases, students under a education visa  issued by another institution can be enrolled to MSMU.
