REGISTRATION

Your registration is a confirmation of your lawful stay in Russia. You shall submit documents the next working day after crossing the border of the Russian Federation.

Every time you leave and enter Russiа, and receive a new migration card, you must apply for  new migration registration. If you have been registered in another city in Russia, please make sure that you again apply for your registration after your return to Moscow. 



IF YOU ARE STAYING IN THE MSMU DORMITORIES:

If you are staying at the MSMU dormitories, migration department ( Room 125, Trubetskaya street, 8/2 ) will assist you in applying for your registration at the local territorial office of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

To apply for your registration and obtain your registration slip, please contact migration department. 




IF YOU ARE STAYING IN A RENTED APARTMENT:

If you are staying in a rented apartment, the apartment owner must apply for your registration at the local territorial office of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs or MFC.

To register at your place of residence in a rented apartment, please:

1. Contact the apartment owner and ask him/her to arrange for your registration at the address of the rented apartment;

2. Check the website of the Central Office of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow to find the address of the local office where you must apply for your registration;

4. Please contact the district migration desk where the rented apartment is located to obtain information in regards to the conditions and documents necessary in this particular district (i.e., a list of documents, office hours, contact persons, etc.,);

5. Prepare your documents and submit them at the migration desk.

 Documents must be submitted by the apartment owner.

What documents do I need for  the registration?


Please submit the following documents:

·         a scanned copy of all pages in your passport with stamps, marks and visas (if you arrive using an ID card, please make a copy of both sides); 

·         a scanned copy of your migration card;

·         a completed registration slip,

·         a document, establish your student status (hodataystvo).You can it from our office in Room 125, Trubetskaya street, 8/2 );

Please be kindly informed that the list of necessary documents may vary and it depends on the local territorial office where the documents will be submitted.


If I got I new visa, what's happened with the registration?

 

After receiving a new visa, you must extend your registration at your place of residence. If you live in a dormitory, please contact its passport officer. If you rent an apartment, please ask the landlord to extend your registration at the relevant local territorial office. To get futher information, please read above mentioned information You shall submit documents the next working day after receiving a new visa. 


 

ATTENTION! Pursuant to Russian legislation, foreign citizens who violate immigration regulations (i.e., the period established for migration registration) are subject to a fine of up to RUB 5,000 (five thousand roubles) and may be deported from Russia on the basis of a court decision, with a further ban on entry into the Russian Federation for up to 5 years.
