Objective: The article studies state-of-the art physical therapeutic techniques as a high degree of relevance to minimize invalidation and improve quality of life for patients with dental osteosarcoma. Materials and Methods: A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted in 21 patients with osteogenic sarcoma of mandible (C41.1). There were 10 patients in the experimental group and 11 patients in the control group. Results: A comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program for patients with osteosarcoma of mandible was developed. The first part of the program comprised 3 basic phases: preop chemotherapy, surgery, and postop rehabilitation. The surgical treatment further included resection of an affected part of the mandible and primary repair of the defect with jaw fragments and an autoimplant joined together with the help of positioning devices. The postop rehabilitation included postop chemotherapy and mesodiencephalic modulation (MDM). The second part of the program comprised preop examination, modeling, using stereolytic 3-dimensional models of the mandible, corrective surgeries, including implantation into the auto-implantda fragment of patient’s fibula, and building of a removable titanium alloy–based denture. MDM sessions were administered after each invasive intervention. Conclusions: Higher psychological and physical well-being was observed in the experimental group as compared with the control group (P, 0.01) in 2 weeks after the first surgery and 2 months after scheduled corrective surgeries, which finished in denture installation.

Under the modern market conditions, the process of development of the methods for the combined rehabilitation of the patients is becoming increasingly more complicated. For the reduction of potential risks and leveling the factors responsible for the uncertain market situation influencing the creation of new methods, it is necessary to carry out the full-scale pilot studies with the use of the marketing analysis methods. The objective of the present work was to create and elaborate the rationale for the graphological structure (the scheme) of the process of exploratory research with a view to the development of the combined rehabilitation methods as exemplified by phyto- and physiotherapeutic modalities. The work is based on the application of the existing approaches to the structural, comparative, systemic, and situational analyses. The proposed graphological structure (scheme) of the exploratory research process consists of 6 stages. Its distinctive features are as follows: a fractional stage by stage evaluation of a variety of issues including the study of physical factors, characteristic of the means of herbal medicine with special reference to the mechanisms of their production and application under the current market conditions, monitoring the marketing environment with the constant focus on the trends and behavior of the target market, the parallel pursuing of serial studies with the application of the iterative procedures; the use of the previously created data bank to expand medical services at the stages of development and maturation of the life cycle, the evaluation of the possibility of establishment of the industry of parapharmaceutical products.

© 2018 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. Increase in academic performance of medical universities' students is one of the most significant tasks of the modern education and healthcare systems as a factor contributing to high quality of the future doctors' qualification. Increased level of anxiety and depression negatively correlate with the level of the students' academic performance. Such a method of physiotherapy as mesodiencephalic modulation takes a stabilising effect on psychoemotional state of a person. The paper contains the analysis of emotional state of the students from the Faculty of Dentistry, defines the level of anxiety and depression, and notes their correlational interconnection with the level of academic performance in their study. The authors have practically stated positive influence of the mesodiencephalic modulation sessions on psychoemotional state of the students and indirectly on the level of their educational academic performance.

© 2018 Russian Electronic Journal of Radiology. All right reserved. Purpose: Complications after hip/knee/other joint arthroplasty develop in approximately 1-1.5% of young people and in 2.5-3% of elderly patients. Despite the meager chance of developing negative consequences, they can affect anyone, especially those who did not follow the rigorous rehabilitation program. Complications after endoprosthetics of hip/knee/other joints results from incorrect postoperative care and physical activity after discharge from the hospital. The second reason is technical approach of the surgeon. And third is an inadequate preoperative examination. The aim of the article is to have a detailed description of short term, midterm and long-term complications after joint replacement surgeries and of the methods (clinical and radiological) to avoid those complications with all the required parameters.

BACKGROUND: Physical overload results in the development of pathological changes in the organs and systems and thereby causes their dysfunction. This leads to disadaptation, vegetative imbalance, and disturbances in the cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine and other systems. Taken together, these changes give rise to a syndrome of overtraining. In this context, the pathogenetically sound method of therapy appears to be the most suitable for the management of this condition based on the physiotherapeutic non-invasive interventions for the correction of physiological characteristics and the psycho-emotional status of the patients. One such method is bioresonance therapy (BRT). AIM: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the influence of bioresonance therapy (BRT) on the health status of the athletes presenting with the overtraining syndrome. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study included 60 athletes presenting with the overtraining syndrome. They were divided into two groups each comprised of 30 subjects of comparable age, sex, sport, and sports qualification. Group I was composed of 30 athletes who were treated by means of bioresonance therapy. Group II (control) contained the athletes who received placebo procedures (i.e. the procedures with the use of a non-functioning device). All the athletes were examined before and after the treatment with the application of the clinical and instrumental methods. RESULTS: The study has demonstrated that the use of bioresonance therapy significantly increases the parasympathetic influence on the rhythm of the heart, reduces the stress on the central contour of its regulation, contributes to the 'economization' of the cardiac activity; has an antihypertensive effect (more pronounced with respect to systolic blood pressure (SBP)), has a normalizing effect on the variability of blood pressure (BP) in the patients with initial BP instability, and significantly decreases the time index in connection with monitoring blood pressure; moreover, BRT has a normalizing effect on the circadian rhythm of BP and corrects the rate of the morning rise in diastolic blood pressure (DBP). CONCLUSION: Bioresonance therapy can be considered as a method for the correction of the syndrome of overtraining in the athletes with the enhanced activity of the sympathetic nervous system.
