The first work steps of the UK-Russia Young Medics Association were discussed in Cambridge

Sechenov University’s delegation visited University of Cambridge on January 29-30, 2018. The following University delegates participated in the meeting: - Prof. Petr Timashev, (Director of the Institute for Regenerative Medicine) , Assoc. Prof. Daniel Markaryan (Head of the Department of Oncocoloproctology, Clinics of Coloproctology and Minimally Invasive Surgery),  Mr. Nikita Suschentsev (Senior tutor of the Center for Scientific Career). The first day was devoted to the meeting with the students who are interested in the UK-Russia Summer School in Innovative Surgery, which will be held at Sechenov University in June, 2018. The Summer School will be the first event within the framework of the Russian-British Association of Young Physicians, which is planned to strengthen scientific and educational ties between the leading medical schools of both countries. Firstly, it became possible thanks to success of Cambridge-Sechenov Summer School-2017 in Urologic Oncology & Urogenital Reconstructive Surgery. This year the Summer School will not only increase the number of participants up to 24 students, but also significantly expand the program by adding Coloproctology Module and paying more attention to the development of manual skills.The students of Downing College Mr. Jonathan Chu and Ms. Ryta Kamarova, Downing College shared impressions from a trip to Moscow last year. They expressed confidence that the participants of the Summer School will be able to get a unique experience of training surgical skills on modern simulation equipment and try oneself in the role of real surgeons in the international-class clinic.
