The UK-Russia Young Medics Conference will be a two-day event (March 1-2, 2019) aimed at showcasing the results of exchanges conducted as part of the UK-Russia Young Medics Association, as collaborative project of Sechenov University and British Embassy Moscow.Science & Technology Park for Biomedicine of Sechenov University will become a platform for interaction of the top Russian and UK medical universities (Cambridge, Oxford, Newcastle, as well as Imperial College of London, King's College of London ) in Life Sciences.
On March 1-2, 2019 Sechenov University will host the first international scientific conference of the UK-Russia Young Medicine Association, which was initiated by the Sechenov University’s rector Prof. Petr V. Glybochko. The initiative was supported by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Russia Dr Laurie Bristow CMG, who emphasised that establishing stronger ties between Russian and British scientists is beneficial for both countries. The Association was created in 2018 and became an educational community that helps the UK and Russian students to exchange experience and find common ground for cooperation.
The conference programme will include oral and poster presentations of students, young doctors and early-career biomedical researchers of the two countries, as well as a number of keynote lectures and panel discussions chaired by world-class academics, educators and diplomats. Moreover, the conference will be a wonderful platform for discussing ways of maintaining the Association's sustainability and expanding its exchanges to build more links between the student bodies, research institutes and medical schools of Russia and the UK.
