Sechenov University, along with the partner universities in Britain will host the III UK-Russia Summer School of Innovative Surgery from 18 until 31 August 2019. The participants include students and professors of Sechenov University, as well as visiting students and professors from University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, King’s College London, University of Newcastle and University of Nottingham. The summer school gives a unique opportunity for students to attend classes run by renowned scientists and scholars, and gain hands-on experience with patient care. This year’s programme features three theory courses, including Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Urology and Colorectal Surgery, as well as an interactive workshop on patient-doctor communication skills - all run in collaboration with the professors from the leading universities in the United Kingdom. The courses also have a strong practical focus, with students building on their practical tasks such as laparoscopic surgery, nephrectomy or bowel resection at the Sechenov University hospitals.
