The researchers from the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy have explored the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence in identifying the presence of lumps in the chest cavity, in the interpleural space and in the osteoarticular area. The scientists used machine learning algorithms to process the X-ray images of chest cavities, feet and knee joints.

«We’re extremely interested in the possibilities offered by neural networks in comparative anatomy, particularly in developing new methods of interventional radiology and using it as an educational tool for our students», - said Professor Sergey Dydykin, the Head of the Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy Department who co-led the research.
