On January 25, 2019 Sechenov University students actively celebrated the National Student Day. The organizers prepared 2 special platforms (All-World Zone and International Hall) to engage the Sechenov international students in the celebration activities.
Students from Kazakhstan, Malaysia, China, Korea, Bahrain, Indonesia and other countries presented their cultures and customs. This day, different interactive events like music, drawing, quiz master classes were held for the guests. The National Student Day was ended with the eye-catching concert. All participants performed with national songs and dances.
The Chinese students made a video to share their personal impressions from the Festival at Sechenov University. It was published on the Sputnik News Service web-site (Chinese version).
The roots of this Festival go deep into the 18th century when Empress Elizabeth of Russia signed the petition to establish Moscow State University (1755). Accidently this event coincided with St. Tatiana’s Day (January 25) and this became the premise for making this saint a patron of all students.
This event, originated in Moscow, is now celebrated all over the country. This day also marks the end of the first term and the exam session. So students never miss the opportunity to have fun.
