The opening ceremony of the AMEE first European representative office took place at
Sechenov University on May 15, 2018. Prof. Petr V. Glybochko, Sechenov University rector, Prof. Trevor Gibbs, AMEE Development Officer, Prof. Andrey A. Svistunov, the University’s First Vice-rector have attended the official opening ceremony. 
Cooperation between the AMEE and Sechenov University will promote international development of medical education at the University in cooperation with the foreign partners. It will help to use the latest European technologies for solving the curent problems of Russian medical education 

The Russian office of the AMEE will become a Centre of Competence for improving professional skills of the medical specialists, a platform for broadcasting the best European practices of medical education. 

According to Prof. Trevor Gibbs statement, the choice of Sechenov University as a platform for opening representative office in Russia is not accidental. It is an open innovative University, an international partner, a participant in the key world rankings.
