Seminar on prenatal ultrasound by Giuseppe Rizzo

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Clinical Institute for Children’s Health (Sechenov University) is pleased to announce the upcoming online training session on Advanced Foetal Neurology, Part II: Midline Anomalies, that will take place on 15 May 2021 at 10:00 (UTC+2). Prof Giuseppe Rizzo (University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy & Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Clinical Institute for Children’s Health, Sechenov University) will be overseeing this online session.

After attending the course, the participants will be expected to know how to:

  1. 1. identify the most common foetal central nervous system anomalies on ultrasound;

  2. 2. describe the best imaging features for a variety of different neurologic lesions;

  3. 3. identify the tools and strategies that can be implemented to facilitate multi-disciplinary communication and correlation;

  4. 4. describe the optimal prenatal management of foetal brain anomalies;

  5. 5. describe the optimal type of follow-up of children with a prenatal diagnosis of foetal brain anomalies.

The programme of Part II: Midline Anomalies will cover several topics, including assessment of the midline, anomalies of the foetal corpus callosum, lack of visualisation of the cavum septi pellucidi, and magnetic resonance imaging in foetal midline anomalies.

The course aims to deliver information related to the diagnosis and management of abnormalities in foetal brains. The organisers invite foetal medicine specialists, radiologists, and trainees to attend.
