Biography
Professor Mamedov graduated from the Kazakhstan State Medical School in 1971 and moved to Moscow to pursue his career. He did his postgraduate training at the Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery and then continued to work there as a junior researcher. In 2002, Professor Mamedov was appointed the Head of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at the Sechenov Institute of Dentistry. Adil Mamedov is the editor of several Russian and foreign journals dedicated to pediatric dentistry. He is also the founder of four rehabilitation centres for children with oral and maxillofacial pathology in various regions of Russia. Professor Mamedov was one of the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear disasters in 1986. He is also a member of the Doctors Without Borders organisation and participated in several of their projects, both in Russia and abroad.
