In the beginning of February 2019, Sechenov University hosted the Sechenov.Pro Winter Medical School. It gathered 100 winners of the Russian Student Olympiad  “I am a Professional” who have shown best results in qualifying competitions. This special academic competition aims to create new opportunities for talented students across the whole country.

Sechenov University became one of the Olympiad co-organizers. The University is responsible for medical specialties, such as “General Medicine”, “Dentistry”, “Pharmacy”, and “Pediatrics”. The Sechenov.Pro Winter Medical School became the final stage of Russian Student Olympiad. It was a unique opportunity for medical students to be engaged in their career, to explore best practices of top experts in healthcare excellence, and to get acquainted with each other. The School program introduced practical approaches of being a doctor and current trends in health care.

"This year about 28 thousand graduates of medical universities took part in the Russian Student Olympiad called “I am a Professional”. 100 students were selected as finalists becoming participants of the Sechenov.Pro Winter Medical School. The academic competition is so-called a “social elevator” in healthcare field. As for instance, it helps students to enroll in PhD programs, to do research, and to become a professional in the future. It gives the students an opportunity to show possibilities in socially important projects. It is not surprising that every year the number of participants increases.
