Moscow & New-York: Sechenov University held an international workshop

Sechenov University held an international workshop “Ethics and Professionalism in Obstetrics” on October 31, 2017

Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Director of Medicine and Fetal Health Center (Weill Cornell University, NY, USA) Prof. Frank Chervenak took part in a small press-conference.
During the interview Prof. Chervenak was asked some questions regarding cooperation with Sechenov University, and particularly, with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Preventive Medicine.
Prof. Chervenak told that Sechenov University became an active member of the innovation processes that are formed in the international medical community (including the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology). For example, the result of collaboration with Prof. Alexander Makatsaria (Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sechenov University) was the book “High-risk pregnancy”.
The international workshop was dedicated to ethics of clinical research, the principle of beneficence, assessing benefit and harm, the argument of Immanuel Kant on the moral status of embryo research ethics and application of ethical principles in the everyday clinical practice.
Alexander Makatsaria told that according to the decision of World Association of Perinatal Medicine (WAMP) Sechenov University with the assistance of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine and the International Society “ Fetus as a Patient" will held two important International Congresses on Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2019.
