March 9. Sechenov First MSMU Rector’s Office Conference Hall hosted the Russian-Chinese Association of Medical Universities (RCAMU) founders meeting. The 2015 Annual Report together with 2016 Operational Plan were the starring presentations.
The meeting was presided by RCAMU co-chairman, Rector of First MSMU Peter Glybochko. The work and financial statements of the Association were delivered by Olga Sadkovaya, RCAMU executive secretary. She underlined that the work program of seven events, approved for 2015 was fully implemented: Russian-Chinese educational section within the traditional theoretical and practical conference Medical Education; RCAMU Summer School promoting healthy lifestyle hosted over 100 students and teachers from Russia and China; this event also encompassed the theoretical and practical conference attended by distinguished scientists from every corner of the globe; the Second Session of the RCAMU Permanent Council was held in late May at Bashkir State Medical University; the event was combined with theoretical and practical conference on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases involving more than 40 Chinese specialists; the new phase of collaboration started with Russian-Chineese scientific-practical conference on medical microbiology and clinical mycology at Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University participated by more than 1,000 people, including more than 50 Chinese experts; the University R&D Festival gathered over 350 young scientists from Russia and China.
Launching of the Association’s website in English and Russian languages was appreciated as another achievement of the year. The task for 2016 is to synchronize it with the Chinese site of the RCAMU Secretariat integrating thus Russian, English and Chinese versions.
As to financial stuff, about half a million rubles was spent on preparation of financial statements, promotional products and website expenses. On January 1, 2016 the organization balance amounted to over a million rubles (contributions of the founders and RCAMU members). The FMSMU rector welcomed the report and proposed to leave annual member contributions unchanged, to be paid under the old scheme, ensuring the current tasks of the Association, which was approved by other founders.
The plans of the Association for 2016 were unveiled by Peter Litvitsky, Chief of the FMSMU Department for International Cooperation and Partnership. According to him, it consists of 16 events aimed at professional and creative development, optimization of educational technologies and scientific cooperation.
4th meeting of the RCAMU Permanent Council planned for September in Voronezh will attach solemnity to the opening ceremony of the Russian-Chinese Traditional Medicine Clinic at Voronezh State Medical University. The FMSMU rector considers this occasion as the most important among all the events of the year:
– The plan we conceived in cooperation with Chinese partners in January 2016 during the Third Meeting of the RCAMU Permanent Council in China presupposes strengthening our cooperation at all and every direction, including the scientific matters.
