1044420_10151485076311500_341944318_n.jpgOn the 4th of July 2013 at the intimate concert hall of hotel "Cosmos" was held graduation ceremony of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. It was the 11th English medium graduating class of the University.

The diplomas of doctors got 118 medical students from Malaysia, 2 - from India, and by one - from China and Israel.

Ceremony was conducted by representatives of the Organising Committee of graduates - 2013.

The graduates and their guests were addressed by Professor Peter Frantsevich Litvitskiy, corresponding member of Russian Academy of medical sciences, Vice-Rector for international affairs, Prof. Oleg Stanislavovich Glazachev, Dean for international students, and HE Dato' Zainal Abidin Omar, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Russian Federation.

In his speech Professor Peter Litvitskiy, on behalf of the University, congratulated the graduates with successful completion of high school. He noted that international students acquired medical profession far away from home, relatives and loved ones, in the new climatic and living conditions. Overcoming all difficulties, they successfully mastered the medical profession, actively participated in social and sporting life of the University, many received the first skills in organization and research activities. To become a qualified doctor or pharmacist one must not only study hard in high school, but also maintain and update professional skills throughout life.

Peter. Litvitskiy appraised contribution by University academics in training foreign specialists in the field of medicine, and also expressed gratitude to the Malaysian Embassy for caring about students and close cooperation with the Dean's Office. In conclusion, he wished the year 2013 graduates success in their professional, public and personal life.

Diplomas were presented by Peter Litvitskiy and Oleg Glazachev .

Among the graduates of the year 2013, 18 are holders of "red diplomas" cum laude. Gold Medal "Succeeding" for excellent study and active public work was awarded to Ng Kooi Hiang (Malaysia). For excellence in learning and success in academia, for the great personal contribution to the organization and conduct of the scientific-methodical seminars, University diplomas were awarded to Singh Jasraj, Khaiathiry Manokaran, Sudhir Das Haridas and Gnanasekaran Ramanathan.

In closing the ceremony, the Dean for international students, Professor Oleg Glazachev thanked parents, relatives and friends of the graduates, who arrived from far away countries, for their moral and financial support, without which it would have been impossible to achieve such results. He stressed that six years ago current graduates made the right decision by choosing the “First Med” to receive medical degree. Being plunged into the intellectual, scientific and professional environment of the oldest Medical University in Russia enabled them to develop their intellectual and emotional potential, master the most prestigious profession of a doctor. 

Professor Glazachev expressed confidence that newly graduated doctors will honorably represent 1053036_10151702147594847_1488276900_o.jpgthe values and traditions of the Russian medical school, will become the reputable representatives of the profession in their home country.
