Director of the Sechenov Institute of Molecular Medicine Receives Publons Peer Review Award Peer review is an essential part of scientific publishing since it provides thorough and unbiased judgment on the submitted papers. Preparing reviews for the journals in their area of interest is a common practice for thousands of leading scientists all over the world even though this work is usually anonymous and unpaid. Publons gathers information about peer reviews and celebrates their most active and diligent authors.

Every year Publons honours three groups of scientists: top 1% of reviewers in each field (the most active in each of the 22 research areas), 10 excellent reviewers (whose reviews were marked as excellent by the largest number of editors and authors) and the top 10 handling editors (who organised peer review for the largest number of papers). Over 4600 experts from 101 countries were awarded this year, including 21 researchers with Russian affiliation.

During the last year Professor Zamyatnin wrote 71 reviews that were recorded in the company database while the total number of reviews written since 2014 equals to 159. The prize was awarded to the top 1% of reviewers on the Publons global reviewer database based on the number of peer reviews published during the last year. Professor Zamyatnin received the Publon Top Reviewer award for the third year in a row.
