The first Winter Engineering School on Medical Device Engineering held at Sechenov University

For three days at the "Zvenigorod" sanatorium, 30 participants — future physicians, engineers, and cross-functional specialists — engaged in 5 educational tracks. These tracks correspond to the five master's programs offered by Sechenov University Advanced Engineering School "Intelligent Systems for Theranostics."

Potential master's applicants attended lectures, participated in workshops and business games, and worked on medical-engineering cases. The event culminated in presentations of their solutions to an expert jury.

"If a participant is studying at an engineering university, the school could be a turning point in their professional career. They might enroll at Sechenov University and become a specialist with unique competencies in the Russian market — for example, delving deeper into materials science and additive technologies or into the design of medical devices," shared Kristina Vaulina, Director of the Education Office at Sechenov University Advanced Engineering School.

The achievements of the master's students and graduates speak for themselves: even during their studies, students work in major companies, such as Rosatom, and consistently rank among the winners of the All-Russian Engineering Competition.

Ksenia Zhivina came to the winter school from RTU MIREA, where she is a 4th-year student majoring in "Materials Science and Technology of Materials." "It's interesting to see how my specialty is applied in the medical field. I plan to continue developing in this area: specialists who understand both engineering and medicine are in high demand right now. I'm interested in creating technologies that improve patients' quality of life and help faster implementation of new developments in healthcare," she shared.

The Winter Engineering School is a new project by the Advanced Engineering School "Intelligent Systems for Theranostics." It allows Sechenov students and participants from other universities to choose their educational path right now and prepare for admission to a master's program.
