Prof IRINA MAKEEVA

Biography

Professor Makeeva studied at the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. After graduating in 1985, she did her postgraduate training at the Department of Clinical Dentistry and then at the Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr Makeeva completed her PhD in 1997 on the dental restoration using light curing composite materials and in 1998 she became the Head of the Cariesology and Endodontics Department there. In 2001 Professor Makeeva moved to the Sechenov University where she was offered the position of the Head of the Department of Dental Therapy. She was then promoted to the Director of the Sechenov Institute of Dentistry. She is the editor-in-chief of Dental Tribune Russia. Dr Makeeva is currently working on the creation of iTOP (Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis) Academy in Russia.
