A World-class education: Sechenov university opens innovative international schools

Sechenov University organizes one- or two-week courses aimed to give you an outstanding clinical and practical experience in Clinical Medicine (Surgery, Radiology, Otorhinolaryngology, Endocrinology), Bioinformatics and Drug Design, Linguistics (Professional Communication in English for Medical Students) and help you to choose your future specialization in a more sensible way under the supervision of experienced faculty.
The introduced programmes will provide you with a unique opportunity to broaden academic and professional horizons, as well as to enjoy international cultural activities which are an integral part of the curriculum.


September 30 - October 6, 2018

Autumn International School in Bioinformatics and Drug Design

The school programme is focused on practical aspects of structural bioinformatics as a basis for computer-assisted drug design. Metabolomics, pathway regulation, and pathway discovery present the 2nd part of the new biologically active compounds’ development process.

The 3rd part of lectures and workshops introduces different molecular predictive models. It will include expert opinions, Q&A sections that may be helpful for students in their own projects on molecular modelling. Participants of the school will also have time for testing various software used in drug design.

Autumn International School in Professional Communication in English for Medical Students

The main purpose of the school is to promote development of intercultural communication and cooperation between medical students from different countries and cultures. Training will be provided as a modular course (5 working days - 5 modules). Each module is focused on a certain aspect of professional communication, and consists of a training part (including lectures, interactive lectures, workshops etc.) and a practical part (including group work, case studies, individual project presentations, round tables).

International Autumn School in Radiology

The School will introduce modern approaches to diagnostics and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid diseases, clinical case studies, master classes, that may help to put theory into practical use within patients management.

Practical course will be held at the Russian-Japanese Cardiac Imaging Training Center of Sechenov University, using the first-class equipment: Aquilion One 640 Slice CT Scanner, Aplio 500 Platinum, Infinix Vfi system.

Sechenov-Semmelweis International Autumn School in Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy

The School will be aimed at development of competences that are necessary for a Doctor of the Future who has decided to become a surgeon. Students will be active members of a surgical team and will participate in daily routine of surgical wards. Furthermore, they will attend practical seminars devoted to blood transfusion technique, wound healing, as well as workshops of the University Simulation Center.
