Sechenov University is highlighted in THE Engineering

Times Higher Education has released the new World University Rankings by Subject: Engineering. In the 2022 version of the list, Sechenov University has been ranked in the group 601–800. This is much better than last year’s result (801–1000).

According to Times Higher Education, their engineering subject table is based on the same 13 performance indicators as the World University Rankings 2022, however the methodology slightly differs to suit the specific field. For engineering, the key groups of indicators have the following weightings: teaching — the learning environment (30%); research — volume, income, and reputation (30%); citations — research influence (27.5%); international outlook — staff, students, and research (7.5%); industry income — innovation (5%).

The engineering subject rankings highlight the leading universities in the following disciplines: general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering.

The number of participating universities has increased compared to last year from 1,098 to 1,188.

Earlier, Times Higher Education published its World University Rankings 2022, where Sechenov University was ranked 19th among 60 universities from Russia, while continuing to be the country’s best medical school. Globally, Sechenov University was ranked in the 1001–1200 range.
