Russian-Chinese school on mathematical modelling and parallel computing The online event with key speakers from Sechenov will take place on 22–25 September 2020.

 The Russian-Chinese School on Mathematical Modelling and Parallel Computing is a 4-day-long course that will focus on mathematical, statistical, and computational methods in medical research and life sciences. The event is organised by Sechenov University, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Science, and Moscow Centre for Fundamental and Applied Mathematics at INM RAS (Institute of Numerical Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences).

The first lecture, ‘Basics of mathematical modelling and numerical methods’, will be delivered by Sergey Simakov, Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Mathematical Modelling at Sechenov University. On the following day, the attendees will hear about the ‘Basics of parallel computing’ by Rongliang Chen from SIAT. On 24 September, Igor Konshin, of Sechenov University and INM RAS, is to speak about supercomputers. And on the final day, Peng Yin from SIAT will talk about biostatistics and applied statistics.

The lectures will be held from 9:00 to 13:00 (MST, GMT+3), or from 14:00 to 18:00 (CST, GMT+8), without breaks. To register for the event, please go to the website.
